A good start to 2011.

What's better than starting the new year off with some good news? Well, we're expecting baby Rockhill #2 and couldn't be more excited! Of course the timing isn't ideal (is it ever??),  but it's all in God's hands. We realized this when we went for our 8 week check up and had the very first ultrasound. So far, we're blessed because everything looks normal and perfect and all is healthy. The amazing thing is the due date. This sweet, precious baby is expected to arrive on August 4th. Our wedding anniversary. Of all the 365 days this child could be born, God picked this day. This one, special day. It's our day to share and expand our family. This is a gift from God.

Now, let's just hope this baby doesn't have his or her own agenda and arrive on a different day ;)

So, it's been awhile....

Awhile, or 6 months? That's how long it's been. I'd love to go back and recap everything that's happened, but I'll spare you. I reread the blog and noticed that I'm quite the talker, err, the thinker. So, filling you in on the last 6 months would take way too much of your time. I'll start now and highlight a few details :)

Obviously, we've been a little busy, but happier than ever. Miss Paige is growing and is keeping us on our toes every minute. Things have been wonderful. But busy. Really, really busy. I've been working full time and my Mom has been keeping Paige. This is an awesome arrangement. We are blessed that my mom is here, part of our lives and taking care of our baby girl while we're at work. Paige experiences new things every day. Probably lots of new things everyday. And the more she grew, the more I missed. I just couldn't take it anymore. I needed more Paige. I've waited for her my whole life and was ready to be with her. So, I'm happy to say that I'm a part timer! I'm a working mommy, but have TWO FULL weekdays to be a mom and nothing else. I work on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays leaving Tuesdays and Fridays as my mommy days. It's perfect.

Shockingly, we're starting to plan her first birthday party! Paige will be 1 year old in just a little over a month. I can't believe how fast this year went by. We just packed away all the newborn and summer clothes. The newborn onesies that were just a *smidge too big on her when she was first born now look like doll clothes. She is now crawling. Yes, friends, I said crawling. (We have had a hard time crawling.) But, of course, she's still walking all over the place. She's talking in her sweet baby language. And eating whatever she wants. She loves pears. Well, she's not too prejudice with fruit. She loves them all. Like her mom, she loves spaghetti. The good stuff. The completely homemade kind. Her daddy is a chili junkie and so is Paige. She loves it. She may or may not have had a cookie or two. She loves them. We all know that's me coming out in her. And don't worry, they were only oatmeal.

She's a sweet girl. She loves giving kisses and there's no other feeling like being the recipient of one. She cuddles in the morning. But only in the morning. She loves on all her toys, dolls and stuffed animals. Don't mind all those other times she takes her toys and throws them across the room. She loves to share. She'll be eating and will reach out to share her food with you. Or, a toy or anything else she's playing with.

I think Miller may be happier now than ever. Not only does he have a new playmate that is just months away from playing nonstop and running around the yard with him, but he's got a new person who feeds him. He's new spot is right by the high chair. He gets all the crumbs that Paige drops, but then gets all the food that Paige shares with him.

I think that about covers it for now. We're back and will keep you in the loop with the Rockhills.

Remember us?

At the request of a few friends :), we're finally here updating the blog. It's been so long -- 4 months, mind you --- I'm not sure where to start. Actually, I do. Motherhood. It's the most amazing and wonderful thing that I have ever experienced. Having this little girl look up at me with complete dependency just makes me realize my role in life. You go through high school, college and every day trying to figure out what you're supposed to do and what your job should be. Now, I love my job. hands down, its the best job I've ever had. I've never experienced anything like it. Every.single.person in my office loves coming to work every day. The company, the work, the people -- all phenomenal. But, I realized back in November what I'm supposed to be. I went years and years trying to find a title or a specific job. You know when someone says, 'what do you want to be when you grow up?'? That's [November] when I realized that not only did I want to be a mom, but it's what I'm supposed to do. It just fits. It feels right. When I see Paige I know she's my role in life. And seeing Jason with her just makes me realize that I'm in the right place. There couldn't be a better daddy. This is where I'm exactly supposed to be and exactly who I'm supposed to be with. How lucky am I? The most perfect husband and the most perfect Paige. and Miller too :) I love my life.

One week ago, we had Paige's 4 month check up. As we all know, Jason is just a little tall. As it turns out, Paige is following in her Daddy's footsteps. Or shoes. Or shadow. She has grown 5 inches in just 4 months. She is in the 95th percentile for height. She was just a few ounces shy of 14 pounds and in the 70th percentile. Her head is 2 inches bigger, too. Depending on who you talk to, this could be because of her daddy as well. But not Fathead, right? :) Her growth is obviously right on track. We noticed over the last week or so that she's not too interested in eating. In the same vain, we have noticed that she seems super interested in what we're eating. This means its time for big girl or food. Or what we think as big girl food - rice cereal. Apparently, its terrible. And according to the look on Paige's face this past week when she tried it, the rumors are true. But, also keep in mind that she had no idea what to do with it. Something on a spoon? Wait, what's a spoon? Meals will be a little slower and a little messier, but working our way on up.

We just got Paige her own, little chair this past weekend. She loves it. She loves having her own spot that is no one else's.

Ok, is she not the cutest thing ever? I just can't get enough of her.

Now that she's older and it's warmer (and I'm over her illnesses), she loves being out and about. She loves being outside and doesn't miss a thing. Watching the birds and the flowers and the tress. And the dogs. Boy, does she loves dogs. She looks at Miller and just laughs. As a side note, her laugh may be the most beautiful noise I've ever heard. There's really nothing like it. I could hear only that for the rest of my life and be happy. Anyway. She'll go up to the Doc and Dakota and just hold their nose. Right.....who are we kidding, here. Tess carries her up to them :) It's just so precious.

Speaking of Tess, she and Paige are a perfect pair. Paige just adores her. Mom is so amazing and is keeping her while we're at work. Tess teaches her everyday. Paige is doing so much and I attribute that to my mom. She is an amazing grandmother, or Tess, as we like to call her ;) And Pops. He is a wonderful grandfather. He looks at her with such love in his eyes that I can now see exactly how he was with me.

Thanks to Emily, we've learned of The Little Gym. Now, this is the coolest thing. It's just what it sounds like - a gym for, well, little ones. Its 4 months +. Their class for the youngest kiddies (4-10 months) is called Bugs. How cute is that? Our had our first class is this week. There is a lot going on in the room - lots of stimulation from the get go. We listened to French music while we danced, stretched and tried out lots of new things. Paige wasn't too keen on the class at first, but she definitely warmed up to it. She loved the bubbles, standing on the railing and playing with balls. We'll have more and more fun each week.

P.S. Jason broke his foot this past weekend, so that's why you see crutches in the background. Well, I think it's a fracture on the joint. He went to the doctor today and he is in a boot for 6 weeks :( My poor, husband. And here's my cue to declutter our bedroom. Sorry, Jas.

Uncle Benjamin went to a wedding in Hawaii a few weeks back. His original flight had problems, so he asked for a flight through Nashville. We were so excited to get to spend about an hour with him in the Nashville airport. It was a quick visit, but a great time. We were so excited to see him and just hang out. He and Paige had an instant connection and just loved their time together.

We had a great trip to the farm about a month and half ago. We got some great quality time with Meme, Papa and the rest of the Rockhill crew! It rained the whole weekend, but that wasn't a bad thing. It gave us the opportunity to just hang and catch up. We got to see just about everyone: Kelly, Greg, Tanner, Chip, Nicole, Marscha, Debra, Catherine and Grandad. Aunt Carla was moving, so we didn't see her, but hopefully will soon! Paige got some great hanging out time with her nieces, Laura and Laine. They were so wonderful and gentle with her. Paige can't wait to see her sweet cousins again!

I think that covers the most important things we've experienced over the last few wonderful months. I'll try to be better about these posts. We've got lots of awesome family and friends who aren't here in Music City with us, so this blog is our life line. We love you all and can't wait to see you soon. And we always have an open door, so don't hesitate to get in the car and come visit. Bring yourself. And your babies. And your dogs.

We love you all,
Jason, Cort and D Paige
